Abstract | The base trends of the Baltic power systems development is an improvement in the infrastructure, the diversification of power supply, extra-energy relations, mechanisms of reaction to the crisis, also energy effectiveness and the best use of the local resources. These tendencies are the basis of the strategic plan of the guarantee of Baltic countries power engineering security and the power supply reliability. Working group of EU Energy Security and Solidarity Commission developed the plan of aid to the Baltic countries. In this plan are provided the significant investments for the development of the new electricity generating capacities and of the intersystem connections of Baltic region with the Scandinavian countries and Europe. |
