The main problem of the Latvian textile companies are the unequal conditions in competition with foreign companies, since the latter ones can enjoy tax policy advantages. Wherewith, the company managers have to think about constant operational improvements to raise competitiveness. Today's real economy drives the enterprises to develop the implementation of management and information technologies into the working processes. The increasing competition and present economic conditions force the companies to seek for new ways to improve business efficiency and reduce production costs, thus finding the inner resources for further business development. The market offers more and more working time expenditure measurement tools - production process design and management systems which greatly facilitate and accelerate the determination of working time expenditure, the technological sequence and the distribution of labour. One of the best known and available for use in RTU is the SSD (Standard Sewing Data) system, which determines the working time expenditure with the macroelement method. The manuscript reflects a comparative evaluation of the working time expenditure. The labour-intensity data of the company has been used for the evaluation and it has been compared with the working time expenditure data, obtained using the production process designing and management system SSD. Static data processing methods have been used for the comparison.
