The Analysis of Office Layout Principles

People often spend the largest part of their days in office, therefore it is very important that the display of a working place is functional, ergonomic and would stimulate effectiveness. In the article two main conceptions of office layout are discussed- closed offices (classic cabinet, corridor system) and open offices. Each of the conceptions has advantages and very often, when setting up an office, elements from open and closed office have been combined. Just like for office layout conception, also the design of the office has impact on company’s effectiveness and image. Each of the largest nations of the world has typical office styles that not only popular in these nations, but also in other countries. In the article two most popular office styles are being showed- American and European- including also most popular office elements of German, Italian, French, English, Japanese and Latvian offices. Unlike American or European offices, in Latvia there is a tendency when there is given favour to native furniture, interior design with a high quality and technical performance. In the article are also showed few characteristics of Latvian companies’ offices.
