The goal of this paper is to provide a clear understanding about the Semantic Web: why we need it, and what is the potential value that can be added by the vision of the Semantic Web. Semantic Web is a mesh of information linked up in such a way as to be easily processable by machines, on a global scale. Semantic Web technology helps to structure the data to make it machine-readable and understandable, therefore it can be and is used for such tasks as search engine optimization, data mining effectiveness improvement and knowledge management systems enhancement. Semantic Web is also the key technology to create the machine-readable Web.
