In this investigation first time in Latvia workload and ergonomic risk of the stonecutters was analysed. There were applied the methods of analysis of ergonomic risks, with which was assessed the risk degree of work hardness in the profession, as well as was performed the monitoring of the heart rate, to experimentally establish the energy consumption of employees. For stonecutters the 3rd risk hardness category and the physical overload was detected. Therefore, necessary preventive measurements was worked out.
