The aim of the paper is to explore, examine and systematize the factors affecting the establishment and operation of the LIS in the enterprise, as well as the opportunities provided by the use of LIS for resource-and energy-savings. Analysis of software implementation of this approach has shown that software developers are beginning towards building such systems. The software allows you to manage orders, production and supply, which leads to a reduction of inventory throughout the supply chain and decreasing the efficiency of production. In such cases important is the information about events within the supply chain. Such information enables suppliers, manufacturers and sellers to coordinate their actions in order to meet the foreseeable demand at least cost. The study proved that the use of LIS and other information systems, provides additional opportunities to reduce the use of all resources (particularly fuel and energy) in the enterprise, which may be a source of additional profit and competitive enterprise.
