The Implementation of a Metric Map Merging Method
50. RTU studentu zinātniskās un tehniskās konferences materiāli 2009
Ilze Andersone

Map merging is a complicated problem in the exploration with multiple robots. Every robot explores a part of the environment and creates a partial map. To acquire a global environment map these partial maps must be merged. The map merging problem ir especially hard if the robots work with metric maps – maps that contain only geometric information without any structural information.
