Important preconditions for successful transition to sustainable practices are development of sustainable product systems, i.e. „eco-innovation” and cooperation among stakeholders involved in life cycle of product systems. Environmental education and ecodesign in particular, due to its interdisciplinar character, can play a key role in creating society which is better equipped for innovation and cooperation than the society today. Organizing ecodesign courses involving students from various fields of studies would help to accomplish interdisciplinar environmental education and overcome barriers for cooperation among faculties and universities
