Research on Formation Mechanism of Coated Wires Welds Achieved by Spot Resistance Welding

Coated wires are widely used in different industries, but the full examination of formation mechanism of coated wires welds achieved by spot resistance welding is not offered for this time. Based on metallographic research, micro x-ray analysis and mechanical testing of welds of different combination of base materials and coating materials the main stages of weld’s formation mechanism was established. The main influence of this process have following parameters: properties of wire base material and coating material, thickness of coating and quality of coating.
