Reactions of 2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-Dioxane-4,6-Dione Methoxybenzylidene Derivatives and Their Saturated Analogs with Some Nucleophilic Reagents

Reactions of 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione methoxybenzylidene derivatives and their saturated analogs were carried out with potassium hydroxide in methanol, with ammiac and with hydrazine hydrate. 1,2-Bis(methoxybenzylidene) hydrazines, amides and hydrazides of methoxybenzylmalonic acid are obtained and characterized. These compounds are useful building blocks for synthesis of different structures.
