Deterioration in Latvian labor market has reduced the demand for labor force and increased unemployment. In order to reduce unemployment and increase employment, in cooperation with the State Employment Agency (SEA), activities are being organized to reduce unemployment and to return the unemployed to the labor market. A major role in this process has the organization and promotion of cooperation with employers. Employers should be encouraged to interact with public authorities by providing information on what benefits they can gain from this cooperation, as well as employers should ensure the activity transparency. The low activity of the employers’ cooperation with the State Employment Agency has a negative impact on the recruitment of unemployed. The aim of the Paper was to explore SEA cooperation with employers. There are developed additional selection criteria in the recruitment program at the employer's request, so the selection be faster and more accurately, and additional criteria for the SEA's organized activities to make them more attractive to both employers and unemployed.
