Nowadays the international acknowledgement appeared that the world facing the consequences of the climate changes needs methods and tools for assessing the resilience of different types of systems and strategies in order to increase the ability of systems to withstand extreme conditions and recover after them. The aim of current research is to adjust and upgrade existing methods for resilience assessment to Latvian conditions and apply to a real case – district heating system of the city of Riga. The innovative approach will be developed integrating the quantitative method with multi-criteria analysis involving the sustainability criteria.
