On Some Aspects of the Study Course Survey Sampling

Sample surveys are essential tools in a modern society to provide accurate information to politicians, businesses and the general public about living conditions and opinions. The paper presents a short description of course “Survey Sampling” given in the programme of professional studies in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Latvia, its theoretical part and practical works. The themes connected with survey sampling for the probation work for students and Diploma are considered in the paper.
