Lack of Established Procedures for UAS Operation as the Main Limiting Factor for Their Exploitation in Civil Aviation
Transport Means 2014: Proceedings of the 18th International Conference 2014

Currently in Riga Flight Information Region air traffic is organized in accordance with international, European and local documents, but so far there are no established procedures, which would define, how Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) should operate within this airspace. Taking into account both operational and technical specifications of UAS, it is recommended to define a set of rules, which would guide operations of such aircraft, this way allowing and encouraging their use in different fields.
