Economic Assessment of Biomethane Supply System Based on Natural Gas Infrastructure
Abstracts of 55th International Scientific Conference: Subsection: Environmental and Climate Technologies 2014

Upgraded biogas injected into a natural gas grid provide considerable increase of renewable energy share within the natural gas-fired systems. The costs of biomethane produced in distributed biogas plants and injected into the natural gas grid were determined. The results show that under the most favorable scenario, biomethane production is more expensive than natural gas by approximately 35%.
