This paper is related to autonomous wind power system with typical power demand of 2 to 5kW. Presented power system is designed for private houses or small farms. In the case of low wind speed the energy is provided by energy storage, in mentioned system for this purpose the hydrogen fuel cell was chosen. The main purpose of this paper is to find optimal solutions for creation and control of DC/AC converter used for load supply in the autonomous power supply system. To make the power system more economically profitable the utilization of the heat of fuel cell cooling system should be accomplished. Various new-trend control methods should be implemented of the single-phase 5-level NPC converter therefore decreasing the size of the output filter compared to the implemented classical PWM method.
