Construction industry has a high resource consumption, and decision-making on selection of resources, building technologies, energy systems, recycling opportunities and other aspects has a great importance on environmental development in general. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is one of the important environmental priorities globally and sustainable real estate market development can result in reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well. The aim of the research is to analyze interconnection between sustainable real estate market development and environmental problems, with particular focus on importance of green buildings in sustainable real estate market development. Statistical data analysis, literature review, historical and logical access methods have been used in the research. Combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods resulted in high rationale and importance of environmental friendly construction process and highlighted importance of usage of renewable energy resources. External and internal factors influencing industry development and analysis of internal factors are developed and described in developed models. Integrated analysis of real estate market sustainability aspects showed that sustainable development of construction industry is also affected by real estate market development tendencies and investments in green buildings in particular. Legal factors and policies affects investment climate have a great importance on development of construction industry and real estate market as well. An analysis of technical aspects of green buildings showed a number of opportunities during building life cycle. Green buildings has a special importance in sustainable real estate market development and has environmental, social and economic benefits during the object life cycle for stakeholders and market participants. Future research direction is a focus analysis of economic benefits of green building.
