In this work we report the photoelectrochemical (PEC) activity of tin doped hematite (α- Fe2O3) photoanode obtained by anodic electrodeposition (AED). The novelty of this work lies in the tin doping method. First the FeOOH thin film is grown on the FTO/glass substrate by anodic electrodeposition, as described by Spray and Choi [1]. Next the FeOOH thin film is reduced to FeO thin film in the same solution using tin counter electrode. During the reduction process the tin ions incorporate in FeO. After annealing Sn:FeO thin film at 800°C 20 min, tin doped hematite without any other phases is obtained.
