This article is based mainly on the contents of books series devoted to the study of the development of aviation science and technology in the territory of Latvia in the twentieth century [1-5]. They can be found on the website: http://rkiigarau.blogspot.co.m. The books show the main directions of the development of aviation science and technology in the territory of Latvia since the first flights in the history of aviation; the industrial realization of the results in subsequent years; the role of leading scientists and their scientific schools with a detailed bibliography of publications of Riga scientific centers’ scientists, created in the period after the World War II. The content of the article covers three periods in the history of aviation structures developed in Latvia: before the First World War, in independent Latvia after the First World War and after the Second World War.
