The problems of resource saving are formulated and the characteristic of frictional processes in the «wheel-rail» system on sections of high-speed railway lines is given. The materials of the article are based on the results of many years of work carried out within the framework of planned research conducted in Russian university of Transport (RUT (MIIT)), Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMASH RAN), JSC VNIIZhT (Railway Research Institute). © 2019 The Author(s).
