Transport and logistics heavily depend on economic activity and consumption decisions made by the market nationally and globally. Advanced economies face new global trends caused by more eco-friendly consumption behaviour decisions, distance shopping etc. The aim of the research is to model the economic impact of consumption decisions on transport and logistics caused by global trends. The inter-industry linkages are taken into account and input-output approach and scenario analysis are applied to model the impact of detected global trends on national transports and logistics industry. One EU country, Latvia, is selected as research case, however, the method and general findings can be applied to other countries. The findings are valuable to transport and logistics companies, agencies, governments.
