Objectives. The goal of this review is to consider the problems of lathe type 3D printers that use a Cartesian and polar coordinate system combination for printing to suggest methods for their prevention. Lathe type 3D printing can theoretically increase the strength of printed objects by changing the material printing angle and material interweaving method usage, but current lathe type printers have several problems and disadvantages that can be improved. Methods. In this review is compiled various publications and reviews about lathe type 3D printers to collect information about their possible improvements and problem solutions. Results. As a review result information about possible lathe type 3D printer improvements was collected and information about possible printer upgrade methods was gained to improve finalized production quality and production speed and quantity. Significance. Industry specialists produce that 3D printing industry will grow twice by next four years, that means any improvements in additive manufacturing is needed and investigation in that way now is actual. Existing cylindrical printing methods that use polar coordinate systems is complex and not perfect, so improvements and technology personalization is best way to research now.
