The quality of education is influenced not only by students' ability to learn and the curriculum, but also by the professionalism of teachers. While many educators engage in various professional development activities, one particularly effective method for enhancing teaching skills - peer observation- remains underused. Peer observation involves teachers observing one another's lessons to share best practices, offer constructive feedback, and learn new teaching strategies. Despite its potential, this practice is not as widely adopted as other professional development methods. This study investigates the views of 47 general and vocational education teachers on the key benefits of peer observation. The results indicate that teachers perceive peer observation as a valuable tool for professional growth. By observing their colleagues, teachers can share effective teaching techniques, gain new insights into classroom management, and reflect on their own teaching methods. When peer observation is conducted regularly, it fosters a more open and collaborative teaching environment, where teachers are more receptive to different viewpoints and teaching approaches. Additionally, teachers become better at identifying both the strengths and areas for improvement in their colleagues' work, leading to a more reflective and supportive teaching culture. Overall, the findings highlight the positive impact of peer observation on teachers' professional development. Encouraging its more widespread use could lead to enhanced teaching practices and, ultimately, improve the quality of education for students.
