A probabilistic approach to the assessment of solar power plants (SPP) and wind power plants (WPP) joint operation for an autonomous electrical system (AES) with taking into account the random nature of the electricity produced by them is proposed. The realization of this approach is illustrated on a concrete conditional example of a sample of retrospective weather conditions on solar activity and wind strength. The modeling results make it possible to determine the most probable conditions of power shortage in AES for specific possible forecasts of the states of the external environment for the variables “Sun” and “Wind”.
