The ideal bone implant material and glue in the contact surface with the bone must exhibit similar stress-stain characteristics. Bone cements of different composition are widely used as glues at the implant/host interface. The best glue in interface is new bone, but its formation period is too long. Acrylic bone cements provide quick implant fix, but its acts as barriers to new bone ingrowths in porous medium of prosthesis.
3D Finite Element Modelling (FEM) was made to evaluate the cemented femur neck implant behaviour for original acrylic cement composite with biodegradable additive - chitosan.
