The purpose of this research is to estimate validity and suitability of non-contact measured anthropometrical data for garment creation. The full body scanning solutions are dedicated to the three applications: garment size selection, virtual try on, 3D avatar. Full body scanning is the primary measurement task – garment designing should be improved via obtained anthropometrical data. The best known body scanning systems have been analysed in the following research. Special attention has been paid to the estimation of possibilities to improve garment designing process. Major interest is paid to analyse two different systems – Gfai (Germany) and Staprim (Russia). There is high level of mistakes in non-contact anthropometrical measure caused by changing positions of human body. There are significant differences between human body positions during frequentative repeating of the same posture in different aspects. It is very important to have exact human body measurements without significant mistakes for garment construction. Mistakes in measurements in non-contact anthropometrical measure caused by the changing positions of the human body are very different because of lack of possibility to fixate the body in the same position – these results obviously show the differences in the posture of the human body in each attempt.
