Development of Versatile Modular Power Converter for Educational and Research Needs
14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE/PEMC): Proceedings 2010
Andrejs Stepanovs, Iļja Galkins, Aleksandrs Guks

The proposed paper describes versatile power module and the corresponding modular design approach that is suitable for fast prototyping of various power converters: DC-link frequency converters, multilevel converter DC/DC converters, rectifier/inverter etc. The module and the approach have been developed for research needs. However, this equipment is especially suitable also for educational purposes – as a laboratory basis for courses of power electronics, electrical drives and control technology.
