In this work α-tricalcium phosphate (α-TCP) is used as a starting material for calcium phosphate cement. The setting time of α-TCP cements (liquid phase - sodium phosphate buffer solution with/without citrate ions) can be controlled by changing pH and phosphate ion concentration. The morphology of obtained materials was examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy. The phase composition was determined using X-ray powder diffraction.
