The status of the coastline is a primary element of infrastructure for every country around the Baltic Sea. This baseline serves as the key element for the Marine Cadastre. This line is the dynamic element and it is possible to monitor location with advanced, progressive technologies. At some places, the speed of changes is up to 0.5 meter per year high. Then marine and coastal environments are subjected to intensive research and monitoring. Issues of the Marine Cadastre are on the agenda in many EU countries, and several international projects realised. The level of implementation and development of marine cadastre in different countries is very unequal. Nevertheless, also in Latvia, there is marine cadastre on the way. Land parcels from the sea are registered and maintained in the Cadastre Information System. Starting from 2017, the State Land Service of Latvia has started to register coastal areas two kilometers in width from the sea baseline. Our main contribution is to support successful implementation of the Marine Cadastre, including our experience in the surveying and property evaluation in an innovative way. It is the general opinion that good governance of marine and coastal territories goes through the management of property rights, different interests, responsibilities and including all legal restrictions. In future for the common digital spatial information system in a phase of augmented reality also the Marine Cadastre going to be as one of integrated systems what will be supplemented for example with precise GNSS data and overlays different new information on top. As a conclusion for such kind of researches is to implement most appropriate q-geoid solution and to develop new astrogeodetic methods for unification, monitoring and for reliability of geodetic reference network.
